Argyle pink diamonds are coveted for their rarity and revered for their exquisite beauty. Such is their rarity that an entire year’s collection of polished Argyle pink diamonds over one carat would fit in the palm of one’s hand. It would take approximately 15 years to accumulate enough Argyle Pink Signature Tender diamonds to fill a champagne flute.
Argyle Eternity™
Lot Number 1, the 2.24 carat Argyle Eternity™, the most valuable diamond in the collection and the most valuable Fancy Vivid diamond in the Tender’s 37-year history, was sold to Hong Kong fancy colored diamond specialist, Kunming Diamonds. Kunming Diamonds was the successful bidder of over 30 lots in the Tender.
Rio Tinto achieved record value at its 2020 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, with bidders raising their offers for the stones following the mine’s closure.
Tender
The finest and rarest diamonds are reserved for the annual Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, which over more than three decades, has established itself as the most exclusive diamond sale in the world.
Kunming Diamonds has the great privilege of being invited as one of the few candidates to view and participate in the annual Tender. We provide access for our clients to a limited number of rare diamonds from Rio Tinto’s diamond mine in Western Australia. Over the last decade, Kunming Diamonds has successfully acquired several lots. Among these was the highly sought-after The Everlastings™ Collection.
The Everlastings Collection
A first in the 35-year history of the Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender, The Argyle Pink Everlastings™ Collection is a defining moment in time. This historical selection of the finest Argyle pinks consists of 64 lots of diamonds weighing 0.14 carats and below, with a total weight of 211.21 carats. The collection represents 2 per cent of the mine’s annual pink diamond production.
Once in a Blue Moon
The ultimate complement to the Signature Tender’s glittering swansong, the storied Argyle mine will this year present the very last blue and violet diamonds to emerge from the Argyle diamond mine as part of its Once In A Blue Moon Collection. The natural occurrence of this cerulean spectrum is a rare stroke of celestial splendour, so sporadic that the discovery of the collection’s 24.88 carats was curated over the course of more than three years. The ultimate offering of its kind to be presented, the collection showcases 17 GIA graded diamonds and 24 expertly curated diamond sets across a spellbinding palette of rare blue and violet hues. Kunming Diamonds was the successful bidder of this rare collection.
